After one year of a weekly introductory wheel throwing course in 2019, gripped by the challenges and unpredictability inherent in the craft, Mica became a self-taught ceramicist.

She is obsessive and meticulous, iterating the same form over and over until it satisfies her.

Her wares are balanced in structure, refined in design, simple in appearance, yet contain a history of hours of labor, revision, and destruction.

Much of her work is large in scale, developing unique wares for retailers, restaurants and cafes, events, and special projects.

Her pieces are often functional in nature: wares that elevate daily life, intended to be used and engaged with regularity.
